EIC Accelerator Funding Opportunities
As “Horizon Europe“, the new framework programme for research and innovation funding, which will cover the period 2021 to 2027, approaches, the European Commission is abolishing the SME Instrument phase 1 and replacing its phase 2 with the EIC Accelerator. The latter is one of the mechanisms of the EIC (European Innovation Council) pilot project to support high-level innovators, entrepreneurs, small businesses and scientists by providing them with funding opportunities and acceleration services.
The EIC Accelerator supports high-risk, high-potential small and medium-sized enterprises and innovators to help them develop and bring onto the market new innovative products, services and business models that could drive economic growth.
Selected companies receive funding and optional equity and are offered business coaching and mentoring to scale up their innovation idea. They get extra acceleration services to connect with investors, corporates and likeminded entrepreneurs.
